Jason is a fully retired Soldier and disabled veteran from Florida who served 23 years as a US Army M1 Tanker, Amanda also a Florida native and a Civil Engineer with a passion for bike and pedestrian safety. We were both born and raised in Florida and in September of 1991 we met in high school english class. Although our lives took us in different directions we have always maintained a close friendship, reconnecting on a personal level in 2015, a year later and after 25 years of friendship we started our greatest adventure and were married, ever since then we have been on an amazing journey that has led to Jason fully retiring and Amanda working remotely, we found a new home base in Clearwater, Florida which is where we also found a 2001 70th Anniversary Model Airstream that we rescued from a barn. After a front to back renovation we named it “Sunshine State Streaming” or “Sunshine” for short. Now we travel for four to six months every year with our dogs Max and Daisy. RV adventures have criss crossed us all over the United States with a love of exploring the hidden gems that make up the best and grandest parts of America. Stranded ‘n’ Paradise is a state of mind for us, living our best life as empty nesters, with great wonder for the world around us and a love of exploration but also a deep appreciation for our home in Florida, at just 9 miles from some of the best beaches in the world and only a few house away from the protected waters of Tampa Bay, afternoon gulf breezes, tropical birds and flowers surrounded by palm trees and the shade of old growth live oak trees provide the perfect backdrop where we can find rest and recuperation after long periods of adventure and travel this allows us to still feel grounded even though we are always longing for the open road and new adventures. So share with us in our family travel blog adventures and you may also find yourself “Stranded ‘n’ Paradise”.

“We embarked on the journey of RV travel seeking a break from the mundane, a departure from the predictable. We craved an escape from the confines of everyday life, yearning for a taste of freedom and adventure. The allure of exploring vast landscapes, immersing ourselves in nature's embrace, and embracing the spontaneity of the open road was irresistible. However the importance of feeling grounded and having a place to retreat to when the exhaustion of adventure set in brought us back to our roots, to the Florida we love”.
